Questions about Irish tax deadlines, deadline consequences, or the information on this site.

What we can help with

This site covers Irish tax deadlines for income tax, VAT, PAYE, capital gains, and related obligations. If you have a question about when a particular return is due, whether an extension applies to a specific deadline, or what the consequence of a missed deadline is for your situation, we are happy to answer by email.

We also receive questions from people who have already missed a deadline and want to understand their options. In most cases, filing late is better than not filing at all — the surcharge applies to a late return, but the penalty position typically worsens over time if the return continues to be outstanding. If you are in that situation and want to understand the numbers, the information on this site and on revenuepenaltycalculator.ie will give you a starting point.

D'Emilia Accounting provides professional services for individuals and sole traders who need help with their tax filings, missed deadlines, or Revenue correspondence. Situations where professional help is typically worthwhile:

  • You have missed one or more years of Form 11 filings and need to prepare and submit outstanding returns
  • Revenue has issued a notice relating to a missed return or unpaid tax and you need to respond
  • You are self-employed for the first time and need to understand what you need to file and when
  • You have a mix of income types (PAYE and self-employment, rental, or investment income) and need to understand your filing obligations
  • You want to make sure you are meeting all your ROS obligations as a registered taxpayer

Response times

Email queries receive a response within three working days. If you have an imminent deadline — a Revenue response due in the next few days, for example — please say so in your message subject line and we will prioritise.

WhatsApp messages sent during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm Irish time) typically receive a faster initial response.

Reporting a deadline change or error

Revenue occasionally adjusts filing deadlines — for example, when a statutory deadline falls on a weekend, or when an extension is announced for a particular tax year. If you have noticed that a date on this site does not match the current Revenue published deadline, please let us know.

Email contact@demiliaaccounting.ie with the subject line Correction — [deadline name or date]. Include the page URL, the date you believe is wrong, the correct date, and a link to Revenue's source if available. Deadline corrections are prioritised given the practical impact of an incorrect date on this site.

Full details of our corrections process are on the Corrections Policy page.
